Industrial Water Quality Achievement Award

Congratulations to the Cold Spring, MN, Pilgrim’s team for receiving the 2019 Industrial Water Quality Achievement Award. Each year, the Water Environment Federation presents this national honor to a corporation that best demonstrates significant, lasting and measurable excellence in water quality improvement or in the prevention of water quality degradation as demonstrated by innovative design and operation of an industrial wastewater treatment facility.

In ongoing efforts to minimize freshwater use and maximize water reuse, Pilgrim’s Cold Spring has employed advanced treatment technologies and innovative operations to produce high quality water from its wastewater treatment facility. As a result, the facility uses 25 percent to 30 percent less fresh water for process operations while discharging a wastewater effluent quality well below regulatory standards.
